To make the education in national defense universal and to enhance all the people's awareness of national defense, the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress, according to the provisions of Article 12 of The Law of the People's Republic of China on National Defense Education, decides at its 23rd Meeting：the third Saturday in September each year is the National Defense Education Day.
