![]() Some verbs are usually followed by prepositions before the object of the verb. These are called dependent prepositions and they are followed by a noun or a gerund (‘ing’ form). 有一些动词常常在动词宾语跟着介词。 这种叫做依存介词,它们经常跟着一个名词和动名词(动词ing形式)。 • He’s waiting for a bus.For is the dependent preposition for ‘wait’ 这里的for是wait的动词搭配 We can use other prepositions with ‘wait’ – e.g. He waited at the bus stop – but ‘for’ is the dependent preposition. 我们能用其他介词和wait搭配,例如He waited at the bus stop ,但是for是依存介词。 Here are some other verbs with their dependent prepositions. 这里有一些其他的和依存介词搭配的动词。 Verbs with ‘for’ 和for搭配的动词 • He apologised for being late.
